Scan the Blurb.
William Howard Taft served as US President from 1909 to 1913. Taft faced the daunting task of commanding the nation after the hugely popular Theodore Roosevelt’s two terms. Although Taft reportedly desired to be in the Supreme Court (given his legal background), he continuously declined appointments due to his focus on politics. Eventually, he and Roosevelt would lose their friendship, and Taft only served one term as US President.
