In the late 1760s, the British Parliament passed a series of acts meant to impose taxes and regulations on the British colonies in North America. The legislation was meant to fund the administration of the colonies that would eventually become the original 13 states of the US. Although the list of acts has varied, the five included are The Revenue Act, The Commissioners of Customs Act, The Indemnity Act, The New York Restraining Act, and the Vice Admiralty Act.
