John Tyler was the tenth President of the United States, having served from 1841 to 1845. Tyler was from an aristocratic family in Virginia, he studied at the College of William and Mary and worked as a lawyer after graduating. Due to his networking skills and the power of historic family connections, Tyler was able to easily enter politics.
