William Walker was an American doctor, lawyer, writer, and soldier. He used the doctrine of Manifest Destiny to justify the invasion of small regions and countries by a private (sometimes illegal) army with the intention of creating new governments. Although he was somewhat successful and held titles such as President of Sonora, President of Baja California, and President of Nicaragua, his luck ultimately ran out in Honduras.
